Under the ‘omg I must be getting old‘ category, is this article about a recent drug/sex bust in a Dutch school I came across this week.
Investigation into sex for drugs
22 June 2007
AMSTERDAM - The police are investigating first year secondary school students at the Novalis College in Eindhoven who may be engaging in sex in exchange for drugs. The investigation started on Monday, says school principle Marion Beijer.
At a school party last Friday it emerged that three 14-year-old girls from the first year class had so-called poppers with them. Further investigation revealed that students in the class may also have been taking hard drugs like ecstasy and cocaine.
The first year students were also reportedly engaging in sexual activity. The police are investigating whether there is a connection between the sex and the drugs. The three girls have been suspended for a week.
I bet the police are investigating. A connection between sex and drugs? You mean the two can be separated?
Also, I love that the punishment is a harsh one week holiday from school - ouch! I guess the girls will have to sit at home and think about new ways to make drugs and pimp out their colleagues.
At my school(s) we received more severe penalties if our socks weren’t at equal hight on our calves or if we dared to wear the illegal uniform combination of shirt (with tie), wool sweater but no blazer over the top [insert gasp here].
Needless to say I was a fashion rebel even back then and was regularly in violation of this rule. Hmmm, maybe that’s where it all began?
