This is why I shouldn’t read the NY Times homepage; it has ads that make me aware of apartments I will never afford. NYC 5th Avenue, 16 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, staff(!) quarters, marble floors. And all for a miserly $70,000,000!

Some of the blurb is a little over the top though:

The living room is considered the most magnificent privately owned room in the world… This is without question the most important and spectacular penthouse in the world.

Considered by whom? Noone asked me for my thoughts on this alleged magnificence. Although I probably would have agreed - after a personal tour of course.

Strangely I don’t read anything about a dedicated elevator, which leads me to think one would have to use the regular 5-star hotel lifts… *shudder*. At least that would give me something to complain about. That and the 40k/yr service fees!
