Despite a disappointing lack of scandal, wardrobe malfunctions and chances to object, my last unwed sister Jasmin, managed to successfully tie the knot to her beau, Hayden, in a beautiful country-side ceremony.
Thanks to super-organised planning, previous Bridezilla experience (Hi Rach!) and a little bit of good luck, everything came together on the day. The ceremony was held in front of a rural backdrop, in low 30s heat, with about 100 guests (+/- several thousand heads of sheep).
Even though I was expecting Jasmin to frock up well, I was genuinely stunned when I saw her all done up. She looked amazing, as you can see in the photos below. I loved the dress, simple and elegant - and not at all Bollywood. The ceremony was quite touching, perhaps a little more religious than I was expecting, but I guess that’s what this marriage thing is all about (bring on civil unions I say).
I really enjoyed the reception, the catering was fantastic - I couldn’t fault the service, and if anyone can fault service, it’s me. The speeches were quite touching, I even scored a mention in Dad’s. Hayden (the new bro-in-law) did the sure-fire tear-inducing ‘top 10 things I love about Jasmin‘, which was incredibly sweet. No doubt ‘her amazing and inspirational eldest brother‘ was number 11.
Before I tear up again by thinking about the day for too much longer, I’ll leave it at that and link to galleries of mine and dad’s photos.
