Me?

This is where I get all self indulgent (for a change) and tell you about myself, what makes me tick, why I’m making this website, and why Posh was/is my favourite Spice Girl….

So, here’s the 411 (and a good excuse for me to play with little icons):

I am Australian.

Before moving to New York in May of 2008,
I lived in Amsterdam for three years.

I turned 32 this year.
I remember when my Dad turned 32.

I was born in a town called Point Lonsdale,
but spent most of my childhood living in Ocean Grove.

When I started university I moved to Geelong,
then to Melbourne for my postgraduate studies (and to have a life)

After much gnashing of teeth,
I got my Phd in bioinformatics and molecular biology/oncology

I studied and worked at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre
and The University of Melbourne.

I used to be MUCH fatter than I am now; I lost about 40kgs/80lbs.
[all 'before' photos have been destroyed - thank me later].

I have a brother Justin, who died when he was young,

I also have two sisters Rachel & Jasmin,
both now married and all grown up.

I think of them all three of them, practically every day.

I have swum since I was old enough to walk.

§

I am a total technology junkie,
I like to question things,
I sometimes get annoyed at things too easily,
I am good at entertaining myself.

§

I love music, especially vocal/house/diva dance music.

I have about 1/10th of dad’s creativity and mum’s tenacity.
Thankfully, I also have about 1/10th of their hair.

I really love dogs and would like another of my own one day.

I miss my friends in Australia a lot .

I take great pleasure in celebrity humiliations.

I want an X5, so bad it hurts.

I don’t actually know what ‘the 411′ means.

Welcome to my home on the web

Australian, scientist, blogger, lover AND fighter.

Proceed at your own peril and please take everything you ready here with a giant, novelty-sized grain of salt!
