Was it all a dream?

DSC02055 ->View from my office this morning ?

Seems like only yesterday I was enjoying secret gin & tonic’s by the pool, lapping up the sunshine and home cooking. Today I am trudging my way up to a frigid Tarrytown, drowning in spreadsheets and trying to decide how much coffee-mug-mold is too much.

It was actually last night when it really sunk in that I was back in the US o’ A. There had been earlier inklings, such as having my pants enthusiastically frisked by a US customs agent, sliding on icy sidewalks, being abused by random homeless people and choking back tears of happiness upon seeing a Starbucks.

But it was the woman sitting next to me in last night’s East Village screening of ‘Broken Embraces‘ who started cutting her nails during the movie, who really brought me back to reality.

Snip.. snip.. snip-snip.

You stay classy, women of America.

Jai’s new party trick

Jai meets the real baby of the family

Some random paparazzi shots of me arriving in Melb to my custom-shirted-ballon-beholden family. Cute!

My skin is so oily in these pics that my entire face is at risk of being classified as part of the Axis Of Evil, but Jai is too cute not to post these.

27hrs of travel, humiliatingly far from the pointy end of the plane – not pleasant for anyone involved. Still, I am here and looking forward to veging out (/fixing everyones computers) for the next 3 weeks.

Let the marathon begin

About to board for flight to LAX, SYD then MEL.

In a semi-paralytic state over the horrifying number of people who think it’s acceptable to fly in/own snap on sweat pants. Huge, huge WTF.

Australia here I come!

Voting for Discrimination in New York

Below are the email addresses of the New York lawmakers who voted in favor of discrimination yesterday:

’sampson@senate.state.ny.us’; ‘masmith@senate.state.ny.us’; ‘kruger@senate.state.ny.us’; ’stachows@senate.state.ny.us’; ‘diaz@senate.state.ny.us’; ‘addabbo@senate.state.ny.us’; ‘aubertin@senate.state.ny.us’; ‘monserra@senate.state.ny.us’; ’shuntley@senate.state.ny.us’; ‘onorato@senate.state.ny.us’

I just emailed them to point out exactly the contribution I and others are making to their little state – and to thank them; that with all the other challenges facing society – they still take the time to remind me of my lesser value as a human being.

Feel free to do the same – the squeaky wheel, remember.
